Poon Hill Trek, September 2018
What an adventure and experience!!
This was my first time to Nepal. Id done a Trek before in Peru and used Intrepid, whilst it was well organised and enjoyable I wasn’t very personal and there was no escape ‘from the group’. I spoke to a friend who been to Nepal before and she recommended a local guide company in Himalayan Independent Guide which suited me fine as its keeping money in Nepal rather then using a big multinational.
It was an adventure holiday for my son (17) and I, I wanted something challenging but not that would put him off as my goal is to do Everest Base Camp next year together. I contacted Asha and he walked my through Treks they had and recommended Poon Hill in the Annapurna Mountain range. The Itinerary, service and pricing were spot on so I booked within days
On arrival in Pokhara Airport I was welcomed by my guide Sunny and even though the Trek didn’t start till the following day he took the time to show me around the sights which were great.
The Trek itself is something words nor pictures can describe well enough! The views from Poon Hill at Sunrise over the Annapurna Mountain range were unbelievable and every morning of the Trek we awoke and had breakfast looking at amazing views
I enjoyed it so much Im considering bringing my 12 and 16 yr old daughters next year as even though it’s a challenging Trek (we done it as pace with heavy bags) its for anyone as you can choose to use poles, porters and go at your own pace.
Thank you Asha for a lifetime of memories for my Son and I!

Poon Hill Trek & Upper Mustang, October 2017
I did the Poon Hill and Upper Mustang trek for nearly the entire month of October with Asha and to say I had the best time would be an understatement. Asha’s guiding skills, knowledge of the routes, and general understanding of the whole trekking world is second to none. He was always full of positive energy, always encouraging when the trek got challenging, very knowledgable about the surroundings and culture in general, which when all added together makes him the perfect guide. I am already planning my next trek to the Everest Base Camp and I cannot imagine going on this journey with anyone but Asha.

Manaslu Circuit Trek, March 2017
We did the Manaslu circuit trek with Asha in March 2017. We found Asha to be a genuinely lovely and always cheerful. He is very experienced trekking guide who always knew about the best spots to take photos, where to go for a good cup of chai tea and told us so much interesting information about the surroundings that we would have never known if it wasn’t for him. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his services to anyone looking for a guide in the Himalayas.

Everest Base Camp Trek, April 2017
While traveling in Nepal and hiking in the beautiful Himalayas (in the Everest region) my sister and I had the pleasure of meeting Asha Bahadur Gurung, who is a professional mountain guide. He is a kind, funny and knowable man, who gave us plenty of tips and information throughout the entire trip. I recommend him as a guide; he will make your trip into a real adventure.

Annapurna Circuit Trek, October 2016
I went trekking with Aasha in November 2016 with three of my other friends. Aasha was a great trekking companion and became a great friend by the end of our 2-week trek in the Annapurna region. I would recommend Aasha to my friends as he was a great person to travel with, and was super encouraging and fun to trek with especially on the hard days. He was also really into photography, and we had some great times taking photos together.

Annapurna Circuit Trek, October 2016
We trekked the Annapurna Circuit in November 2016. Aasha is friendly, considerate and very knowledgeable on all things Himalayan, hiking and photography! He made our trip an absolute breeze and was always available for advice, gave us more info or just lifted our spirits with a chat and a local story. All of our group got along really well with Aasha, and he was extremely personable. Always available to help, I can’t recommend Aasha enough! He’s great! If we come back for more hiking, we will get Aasha again.

Langtang Trek, November 2016
Last November in 2016 my wife and I had a very enjoyable trip to Langtang Valley. I would like to thank our trek guide, Lila. He went above and beyond to help and advice us on anything which we sincerely appreciate.
Because of his thorough knowledge we got to learn a whole lot more about wild life and culture of this region. The entire trek was amazing. The fascinating views of Langtang Lirung and glacier emerged behind clouds on the way. We witnessed the ruins of Langtang Village destroyed in earthquake 2015. We did get the AMS once we got into the altitudes of 3500m and above; During this time Lila was very supportive, changed the way we walked with much slower final approaches; he helped us to carry the day pack and kept talking to us. After we arrived to the beautiful Kyanjin Gompa we paid a visit to the glacier at the upper valley and what a breathing views greeted us! Finally, we reached the top of Kyanjin Ri (4773 m). It was quite a challenge but the overall experience was fantastic. I still miss the shepard stew at the tea houses there.
Thanks again to Lila, he gave us the best and very attentive care during the trip.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek, September 2015
My wife Lisa and I are from Canada and are somewhat experienced at hiking and scrambling in the Canadian Rockies. Our dream has always been to take our hiking adventures one step further and trek the Himalaya of Nepal. Our first step in this endeavor was to hire a Nepalese porter/guide. We couldn’t have been luckier in our choice of Khushang Tamang. Not only did Khushang prove to be an excellent porter/guide, but his sense of humor and happy nature also made our trip even more special. Khushang met us at the airport in Katmandu, got us to our hotel, set us up with all the trekking permits required, carried most of our gear, arranged to lodge on the trail, helped us order food and led us on many acclimatization hikes. His knowledge of the people and history of Nepal made trekking through the Himalaya most enjoyable.
We highly recommend Khushang Tamang.

Kanchenjunga Trek, September 2016
We were 4 Estonians, and in October we went trekking to the remote Kanchenjunga area. Asha, Suman and our guide Kaji helped us during this spectacular trek. Unfortunately, I was unable to make the whole circuit due to my knee problems. Asha helped me to get a helicopter organised o come and pick me up. Later on, Asha and I flew to Kathmandu together where was also a great help. During those 18 days, we had the best time as a family together in these stunning mountains.
I recommend Asha and Suman as a young, friendly, sincere potential, excellent English speaking (even better than me) young guides.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek, October 2013
I trekked Annapurna Base Camp in October 2013. It was my first trek in Nepal and I have absolutely loved it. The region is so beautiful, peaceful and culturally rich. I strongly recommend to anyone doing this trek and having Asha as your guide. He will for sure make your trek very enjoyable, informative and safe. I hope I get to come back soon.
